It has been a week since we visited Winter Wonderland in Manchester and I am still questioning why we have never visited before.
The UK’s largest indoor Christmas theme park, situated at Event City in Manchester certainly did not disappoint and we have been recommending it to our local friends ever since… find out why…
Walking through the curtains that shielded the event, we were instantly lifted into the Christmas spirit as snow cascaded down upon us and we were greeted by lights, noise from the rides, laughter and over 70 rides and attractions for us to enjoy!
Having the genius idea to head straight to the back of the venue, we found it to be a little quieter and easily popped on our first ride which was a twister. It was so much fun, with both myself and Mini Me in hysterics between screams! Once steadied from that ride, we decided to take the plunge with the Waltzers…
I ended up squeezed in with 4 children who were all as dizzy as I was when we finally stepped off, I am sure the footage Laura from Tired Mummy Of Two filmed shows me turning different shades of green each time we whizzed by! There is a tamer, child’s version of the waltzers, I may aim for that next time!
I was seriously impressed with the rides, the space between the rides and the fact that you never had to queue for more than a couple of minutes for a ride. Everything was so well organised and laid out – the number of entrants allowed in was spot on, but be warned, you will have so much fun that your 4 hour time slot will simply fly by!
Adults can enjoy the rides too, with some rides requiring adults to be present with children, but who wouldn’t want the opportunity to have a go? Both Mini Me and I are adrenaline junkies when it comes to fun fair rides and for us, it was an awesome night, we did have so much fun!
It was lovely to take a breather for 5 minutes whilst the children had fun in the Fun House, hilarious to take part in but also super funny to watch!
The rides are dotted around the outside of the venue, with a very handy seating area and main stage in the centre of the venue for when you need to take the load off. Family shows are held on the main stage, encouraging children to participate and get up and dance. If you look very closely at the picture below, you may recognise the lovely Rachel on stage taking part in a Minions show!
The seated food area is next to the main stage if you require refreshments, though I did also spy water units on the outsides of the venue. Trust me, you will need a drink! I love the fact Winter Wonderland is under cover, protecting you from the Manchester elements, however once you have been on a few rides, you will realise how warm and cosy it is in there!
Santa even has a dedicated area for a meet and greet opportunity which is included in the ticket price – you can pay an extra £3.50 for your child to also receive a gift! Upon exiting Santa’s Grotto, you will be greeted by reindeer, however Santa will only be available until the 24th December… after that he will be immensely busy!
As expected, Mini Me has already asked to return – clearly that’s the greatest compliment and we are both very much looking forward to visiting Winter Wonderland again! It is very reasonably priced and the fact it is indoors is a huge bonus!
We were gifted tickets for the event for the purpose of this review. I would like to have taken more images on the night, but I hold my hands up and admit I was having too much fun!
Winter Wonderland Manchester will run until January 1st 2018 – advanced tickets (in order to book your date and time slot) can be purchased online for £20.50 each plus a £1.50 booking fee – adult and child tickets are the same price and under 3’s are free. Family tickets can be purchased for £70 for a family of 4 plus a £1.50 booking fee per person. Conveniently situated at Event City at the Trafford Centre, there really is no need to worry about parking if you are attending Winter Wonderland
